Tips for Playing Edgewater

Best way to play the 1st hole

Get your round started off quickly with a birdie on this short par 4. Long hitters will need to tee up a 3 wood and hit it 240 to the center of the green. Watch out for the bunker on the left and the mounding surrounding the front of the green.

The best par 5s

Edgewater’s 4th hole (the Road hole) is the best par 5 (the only par 5). Out of bounds on the entire left side of this 600 par 5 can be intimidating. The green is also surrounded by large bunkers.

Best par 3s

Edgewater’s 5th hole is a beast at 212 yards to a small green with out of bounds left and bunker on the right of the green.

Toughest holes on the course

Holes 2, 3, 4 and 5 are all tough at Edgewater. Each of these holes challenges the player with above average length, making reaching the green in regulation quite difficult.

Closing holes

Edgewater’s character is shown in its closing holes. No. 7 and 8 wrap around scenic Lake Oelwein, while No. 9 steers you back to the clubhouse with a shorter dogleg left par 4. A birdie on this hole will keep you coming back for more.
